Every now and then, a dog comes along who completely steals your heart and Arthur is one of those dogs. His mom had been searching for a little companion and scrolling through Petfinder when his profile popped up. One look at those big, handsome ears and it was game over.
Arthur’s journey to his happily-ever-after wasn’t exactly easy. At just ten weeks old, Arthur (then called Lucky) was found by good Samaritans near a dumpster in a Waffle House parking lot in Tennessee. He had a broken hip and an internal hernia, likely from being hit by a car. Because he couldn’t use his back legs early on, his front half got super strong, and to this day he uses those front paws for everything.
Thanks to Go Fetch Rescue, Arthur got the medical care he needed and a foster family who loved him until his forever family could find him. The adoption process was thorough, phone interviews, house and yard photos, but it was so worth it! His foster family even offered to watch him whenever needed, and they still keep in touch.
And since the day he came home, Arthur has made sure life has never been boring. In just the first two months, he even ate a bee and discovered several new hiding spots around the house. He’s been keeping his family guessing (and laughing!) ever since.
Arthur’s favorite things these days? Running and digging in grandma’s backyard like it’s his personal playground, tearing apart stuffies with impressive skill, and attempting (but not quite mastering) the art of playing with balls.
And then there are his quirks…because this guy is full of them. He gets his lips stuck just so he can flash you his pearly whites, “talks” with cat-like whines instead of barks (grandpa swears he was raised by cats), and if you bounce around with him, he’ll happily break into a little dance right along with you.
Arthur may have had a rough start, but today he’s thriving, loved, and living the good life. His family describes him as loving, bouncy, and overall perfect…and after spending time with him during his session, I couldn’t agree more.
If Arthur’s story warmed your heart, consider checking out Go Fetch Rescue or your local animal rescue. There are so many amazing dogs like Arthur waiting for their own dumpster-to-dream-life happy ending.
